Schedule
Announcement!
I'm very pleased to say that Renegade's Magic, book two of the Soldier Son Trilogy, has won the 2007 Endeavor Award. The Endeavor Award
is given annually to a science fiction or fantasy novel that either takes place in the Pacific Northwest or is written by an author
residing in the Pacific Northwest. Given the strength of the competition, I was completely amazed and very gratified to win. My thanks to all!
April 2008 Updates
I am attempting to live up to my recent resolution of updating people on Stuff.
So. I am now home from Elf Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands, where I had an absolutely wonderful time.
Details at the Robin Hobb Myspace. Photos, courtesy of Silicon to Gold at http://members.home.nl/si2pt/index.html
(The dress is mine, the cloak belongs to my daughter, hand made by my sister. Someday I'll con her into making one for me!)
The Robin Hobb photobucket has
been updated with a few new snapshots, mostly in the At Home In Tacoma section. Of course, Look Edwin the pigeon is the subject of most of
them. The veterinarian's prediction that his wing would heal in a few weeks and he could be released back to the wild have sadly not come
true. But as you see, he has adapted well to a more domestic lifestyle, including bonding with his roommates.

Let's see, what else?
Korean language rights to the Farseer Trilogy have been sold to Nexvision. I don't know the release date for any books
as they have to be translated.
There will be a Robin Hobb short story in an as-yet-to-be-named anthology from Subterranean Press, edited by Yanni Kuznia.
I do not yet have a release date for that.
And I am greatly anticipating a trip in May to Epinal, France for Imaginales. It will be my third visit there.
The previous two were absolutely wonderful. My only regret is that my friend and translator Arnaud Mousnier-Lompre
will be unable to attend this time, but I do know that several people from Les Rivages Maudit plan to make the journey.
So we should still have a wonderful time and shut down several cafes.
Final trip this year will again be to France at the end of October/start of November for Utopiales in Nantes.
I haven't been to that festival before but I've heard very good things about it from those who have. I'm hoping to
meet lots of readers at both events.
And there you have it. The April updates!

2008-2009 Appearances
Imaginales 2008
I'm very pleased to be a guest at Imaginales in 2008 in, of course, Epinal, France. I’m very much looking forward to attending this,
as my previous experiences there have been so wonderful. I hope to see you there! The gathering is from May
22-25, 2008.
Utopiales 2008
From October 29 to Novermber 4, I will be a guest at Utopiales in
Nantes, France. This is a very large festival and I'm very pleased to be invited. As I know more details about my visit, I'll post them
here.
Conestoga Con 2009
Looking forward to 2009, I'm honored to be the guest of Conestoga Con in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
It's primarily a literary sf convention with an attendance of about 700 people or so. The convention dates have been moved to April, to avoid some of the heat
of summer. As I know more about the planning for 2009,
I'll add details here.
In February of 2006, I made a visit to Taipei as the guest of Fantasy Foundation. I was treated wonderfully and enjoyed myself completely. Pictures of this visit can be found at the
Photo Album.
The Science Fiction Museum in Seattle, Washington offers readings and signing sessions by Science Fiction and Fantasy writers on a regular basis. In the photo above, Robin Hobb is on the left and Vonda McIntyre on the right during a signing session following a reading we did in 2005.
