Home Again, Home Again

Back in cool, rainy Tacoma after a sun blasted weekend at Fandom Fest in Louisville, Kentucky.

What was it like?  Well, to begin with, I could have got both a tattoo AND a massage from a zombie at this gathering.  Is there any other place in the world that could offer that?

I didn’t get a tattoo, but did have a pleasant conversation with the zombie masseuse who said she actually did a very good business at Fandom Fest.  So, there you have it.  Job creation at its best!

I saw LOTS of the films, and talked to film makers, listened to Q and A sessions that featured Bruce Campbell, Corey Feldman, Sean Astin and Danie Rhys-Davies, chatted with authors like Lee Martindale, Timothy Zahn, Jim Hines, John Scalzi (with ukelele) and Julie Kagawa, talked with lots of readers, and, well, enjoyed myself tremendously.  A special thank you to Steve for making me feel so welcome, and to all the volunteers who put together this wonderful event.

And now I am unpacking, doing laundry and repacking the suitcase for the coming weekend at Westercon!  Hope to see more of you there!

It’s the end of the world as we know it!

  1. Hi Robin. I just wanted to thank you for 6 months of happy reading. I read every one of your books. Just finished tonight. They were wonderful. The adventures with Fitz, Thymara, and especially Navare where my favorites. Thanks for making them available on my iPad too. It was so easy to get them all.

I’m so looking forward to your new Dragon book. It’s something of an event to look forward to.

It’s easy to say that you’re in my top 5 favorite authors of all time. It’s more than just reading… Sometimes books save our lives.

On a side note… I just got back from Alaska. I vacationed for two weeks there and had your Soldier’s Son Trilogy for relaxation. It was beautiful reading especially in the forests where I lay my blanket to read.

Thanks for so much fun Robin!

    With Love,

  2. Hi Robin, it was so nice to meet you this weekend. I was happy to return to the Northwest after the hot muggy weather of Louisville.

I came home with a gigantic pile of books to add to my TBR. I hope you enjoy The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter if you decide to give it a read. 😉

I hope to meet you again at another event soon!
