Thank you so much for saying this.

And apologies for how long it has taken me to respond. I 'ration' my time on livejournal, or I burn up all my writing time hanging out here!

Again, thanks for your thoughts.

I'm writing this almost a year after you posted it, but I just have to tell you that I'm SO grateful to read your thoughts here. I read the saga last year for the first time and then turned around and read the Farseer 6 again this year. (What can I say? I'm a glutton for punishment.) The first time through Fool's Fate was heart-breaking, mostly because I was reading at such a breakneck speed that I didn't catch your themes and subtle direction changes throughout.

However, the second time I read it... !!! I was floored by how perfectly beautiful the ending was. It completely encapsulated the character of The Fool for me and I really understood what happened. If you're ever bored or need to feel better about yourself you can read my (not brilliant) 'a-ha' moments and the ensuing discussion over here. That list I made is all of the things I finally understood and it made the ending of FF just PERFECT for me. Just perfect.

That said, the reason I'm writing all of this is to let you know that there are many of us who would probably grovel at your feet to hear your continuation and final ending of the story. I know I would. Please keep that in mind as you contemplate it until 2011. I really appreciate your writing. It's brought me a lot of...everything. :)

Please don't be upset or discouraged in anyway that you stuck to your vision. After all, most people don't write letters unless they have something to complain about ;P

For myself and my brothers, we were all very satisfied with the ending. Although satisfied suggests we were content, which isn't quite the case. The bittersweet aftertaste is immensely memorable and somehow /right/ despite the loose threads.

Your novels are the only sort that have managed to leave me in such a state of emotional whirlwind. Even to this day, I still mourn Nighteyes...
